Author Biography
In 1816, at the age of twenty-six, Peter Buchan set up his press at Peterhead, Scotland, and soon began publishing a collection of Scottish ballads. We only know that Buchan (1790-1854), prompted by one motivation or another, strayed from ballad collecting into supporting the attempted revival of magic in the 1820s.
