by E. L. Harris (Author)
The Medellin Cartel's leaders have been a thorn in the side of Don Esteban Ochoa, head of the Peruvian familia that established the South American cocaine cartels in the late 60s. But 40 years later, Medellin serves as the "storefront" for a much larger, more complex organization; but how to control such men as Carlos Lehder or Rafael Bosher? Certainly not money. Not threats. It requires something more coercive, something which appeals to the spanish male psyche: a beautiful and mysterious woman, Alexandra Macintosh. Wings of the Fly paints a portrait of obsession, of absolute power corrupting absolutely, and of innocence overwhelmed by a grotesquely murderous game of international proportions. It illuminates the hopelessness of America's futile war on drugs and the shadowy characters that people this South American business.
