by Gloria Jean (Author)
About the book......When Destiny speaks do we listen? There are too many cold hard realities in the life of Victoria Gray Harmon who as a small child was removed from the love of family and thrown to the wolves into near slavery. The years which should have been worry-free and filled with the simple pleasures and wonders of a child's heart and mind are lost as she becomes a ward of the state. Gray finds her self under the influence of great depression and the societal illusion which oft times guises itself as love. Sometimes in her loneliness she creates imaginary friends and thinks perhaps the persistent bits and pieces of words she hears throughout her life are just fragments of some far away dream until one day she learns the voice is anything but her imagination. Though other voices clamor for her attention it is the voice of The Whisperer which will ultimately lead her to a rocky ledge on a mountainside in her beloved Virginia highlands where The Roster of Destiny suddenly appears. There through the mists of time Gray will find the meaning of The Whisperer's words and much more than she ever dreamed possible. After you have read her story you might want to listen closely.....for perhaps today Destiny has set your own appointed time......to hear......The Whisperer
Author Biography
Gloria Jean was born in Street Maryland and has lived there most of her life although she has traveled all over the US and abroad and often feels the 'pull of her compass' in the direction of the Virginia highlands. Her passion is learning and she most enjoys studying history, genealogy, and other cultures especially Native American. This is her first published work although she also writes poetry. Gloria started the research which led to this book at the age of fourteen when she decided to go in search of her Mother's ancestry and any living relatives she might find along the way. The loves of her life include her Savior Jesus Christ, her children, grandchildren, husband, all the members of a very large family and friends as well as her large literary collection about Robert E Lee and Stonewall Jackson and the numerous angels, faeries, and Indian maidens who grace the rooms of her home making it her sanctuary.
