Author Biography
Othniel J. Seiden, MD and Jane Bilett, Ph.D. Dealing with death is all too often required of physicians and clinical psychologists, but when Othniel J. Seiden, MD himself became a widower, he realized first hand the problems widows and widowers have to face and cope with. With the help and collaboration of his new wife, clinical psychologist Jane L. Bilett, Ph.D., he was able to successfully travel the difficult road from total devastation, through grief and then to a renewed and happy life. It is with the experiences that Drs. Bilett and Seiden gained traveling this bumpy road to renewed life and happiness, plus both of their professional and clinical experiences that made them an ideal couple team to write this handbook for widows and widowers. This book not only forewarns its readers of the obstacles in the rough road ahead through grief and bereavement to renewed happiness, but helps to smooth those ruts in the path through Dr. Seiden s own trial and error experiences.
