by Carl Haney (Author)
Walkabout, Stories from here and there is a melange of stories of "Wanderings," also known as "Going Walkabout." In these stories you'll meet people from: Underground living, Australian opal miners to a "disappeared" British biker in Thailand. You'll go from the depths of the ocean in Micronesian shipwrecks to flying over the Philippine Sea in a plane the pilot forgot to fuel. There are things learned and things that shouldn't have been learned. Stories of loyalty, betrayal, loneliness, romance, super heroes, motorcycles, a terrorist, an informant, an ongoing civil war and maybe even a Nazi war criminal. Throw in a few cowboys, a shot-gunned biker who rises from the dead, a tale of lost virginity and you'll have an idea of some of the stories inside. There's also a postscript of stories of the author's "formative years." Stories of growing up in Los Angeles as well as from his time in the Marines.
