During my subsequent years as a pastor I discovered I was not alone in my awareness that teaching in the church can and should be proactive as well as a transformative aid. The question is, why are we so reluctant to acknowledge and employ it to help our hurting learners with this or some other equally effective method?
Author Biography
While engaged in graduate studies my pastoral care load became overwhelming. I also realized some of the subjects I was studying and the issues I addressed during counseling were covered in my midweek Bible study sessions. Consequently, skills for intervention as well as theological rationale were acquired. When I shared this with my iconic Christian Education professor, Dr. Sarah Little. she said to me, "Tom I believe you have something here!"
