by Adaeze Ifezulike (Author)
Based on real-life stories from Dr Adaeze's caseload, this book talks directly to Black women about fertility control and infection prevention. UK statistics show that 10% of women having abortions in 2012 were Black or Black British. Of these women, 49% had experienced one or more previous abortions, the highest of all ethnic groups. Surveys have also found that there is a significantly lower contraceptive use by non-married Black African and Caribbean women compared to white women. However, this book shows them that they can take control of their fertility - and their lives. It delivers the facts of life with warmth, compassion and understanding, and answers the questions that they may have been too scared to ask their doctor.
