by Thomas Hudson (Author), Victor Appleton II (Author)
Adventure 22 in this new series sees Tom and Bud and their wives vacationing in Barbados, only to discover a terrible food shortage is about to befall several Caribbean islands. Tom's wife wants him to help, but it is only once a relatively new British Ministry comes to Swift Enterprises with money and an official request that he finds he may have an idea or two.The major obstacle is how do you build farm land on a totally used island where nothing more exists without ruining the ecology? When he settles on a unique growing environment, there are many things to overcome, not the least of which are rampant rumors on many of the islands saying that the Swifts are out to capture and steal their land. One man is so angry he shoots Tom during a public event. But, not a lot can get the inventor down except for a returning enemy out to destroy him and the humanitarian project. Obstacle after obstacle are overcome as he works to finish his SeaSpace HydroFarm.
Author Biography
Even though there has been (have been?) a number of authors writing under the pseudonym of Victor Appleton--and his good and faithful son, Victor II--the truth is there never has been a Victor Appleton. Look around you if you don't believe it. Do you know anyone named Victor Appleton? Live with someone by that name? I thought not! Now, if you were to look under Thomas Hudson you might just find a single face behind these recent novels and also the many, many short stories involving Tom, the people he works with, the inventions he has created, and even some stories involving his father, Damon Swift, and his mother, Anne, who is a secret super biologist for the FBI. Intrigued? I know I am! Oh, and forget about that "looking under Tom Hudson to find a face" thing.
