by Allisha Jones (Author)
How do you move forward, when your thoughts are still trapped by the past? How can you see the future when your vision is still obstructed by yesterday; Blinded by the hurts and pains of days gone by? How can freedom ever come, when the chains of secrecy still hold your strength and will to survive captive? When thoughts of hope are paralyzed by the fears of letting go... even when that which you clutch so tightly, threatens daily, to decay your aspirations and dreams? When God calls us to walk in purpose, we often find ourselves wondering exactly what that could be? What is it that a Sovereign God, could want from me? And when you've gone through trials and tribulations, trauma and abuse, you tend to question His call on your life, that much more. Yet as you question it, you are actually granted the opportunity to bear witness to His mercy and His grace. As you seek what it is, that God has for you, you allow Him to take you back, to that which He has brought you from... that which He has brought you through, in order for you to see His hand over your life. Purpose is often related to pain... that which has threatened to annihilate your spirit, is that which God will use to show His Power in your life. I began this journey, in hopes to find my purpose, only to find that it was there all along, tightly weaved into the spiritual lining of my pain. It is my hope that through my experiences, they may help you too be able to find that which you seek... that which will spark the fire that lights your way to what it is He has for you... and you too, someday will be able to stop the leak in your old building.... And allow your soul to move.
Author Biography
Allisha Jones is an Author, Playwright, Life Coach, Mentor and Motivational Speaker who works with both female youth and adult women to overcome obstacles both known and unknown, that may be hindering them from reaching their full potential. It was during her incarceration in the Federal Prison System that Allisha began to face the obstacles of her own past. It was also where she learned that she, like many other women and young adults, could not move forward because they were still mentally and emotionally imprisoned by the hurts, pains and events stemming from a troubled "yesterday." Allisha has received several awards for the work she does with the youth and her female peers, including two Lifetime Achievement awards: The Legacy of Light Award (2017) from Black Women's Network and The Phenomenal Woman Award (2017) from Fox 2 News & Foxy 95.5FM. The awards go along with an array of Recognition Awards, TV appearances, Radio appearances and Acknowledgments within the community. Allisha hold two Degrees, AAS in General Studies from St. Louis Community College and a AAS in Information Technology for Business from Kansas State University. When asked why she choose not to pursue her education further, she responded, "Life experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, has been my best teacher." Allisha Jones is the epitome of every woman who has conquered every crisis or situation imaginable and still able to stand, helping to encourage, motivate and mold both young ladies and women alike to become the best that they can be. Through ruins she brings forth diamonds and continues to bring hope to a hurting world.
