Author Biography

Helen Hegener has been photographing and writing about sled dog races since 2007; she helped start two races and has worked as a volunteer for several others. She co-produced the DVD 'Appetite and Attitude: A Conversation with Lance Mackey, ' and has published many books on sled dog races and history, including 'The All Alaska Sweepstakes, ' 'Along Alaskan Trails, ' 'Long Hard Trails and Sled Dog Tales, ' among oth
