by Cassie M. Shiels (Author)
I went to save two kingdoms... not to fall for a prince.
I didn't go looking for romance. I went to save our kingdoms. After my mother was assassinated, my father made sure I would never grow up a weak princess, fussing over ribbons and gowns. He made me strong. He made me a spy. His best spy. I lived a life of secret identities, daring missions, and swordplay.
Then came my greatest challenge: pretending to be a princess to uncover a threat to our fragile alliance. Suddenly, instead of fighting villains with my sword, I was sipping tea with a queen and bantering with Prince Jarin-doing things I never meant to do as a spy. And discovering, to my own surprise, that I kind of enjoy it.
I'm torn between who I am and who I was born to be. Katie the spy, trained to survive in the shadows... or Katie the princess, discovering a life of laughter and love I never thought I could have. The time has come to choose-and the choice might change everything.
I always thought I'd die a spy. But maybe, if I can solve this mystery, I might live long enough to want something more.

Author Biography
Cassie M. Shiels was born in Idaho, but moved around the Pacific Northwest while growing up. She has always enjoyed books and was one to be found, reading late into the night, on the school bus or before she did her homework. In middle school she determined that she liked creating her own stories as much as she liked reading them; so she decided she wanted to be a writer and keeps working on making that dream come true with every story idea that bounds into her head. She is also a certified childbirth educator and loves teaching new prospective parents about childbirth.
