by Noga Sklar (Translator), Adão Vieira de Faria (Author)
In this poetic-philosophical essay, that in its own form traditionally negates the best practices of the Academy as seen from the perspective of an outsider, but still acting from its own ranks, the Brazilian author Adão Vieira de Faria describes the daily absurdity of our webian world and its thoughtless delivery routine.
Author Biography
Adão Vieira de Faria was born in 1954, in the Lagoa Seca farm in Itumbiara, Goiás, Brazil. In 1975, after completing high school in Goiânia, he moved to Ouro Preto, where he graduated in engineering from UFOP, while, at the same time, starting his art studies. After an unfinished specialization in COPPE, UFRJ, he settled in Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, in 1980. Summing up his productive years in engineering and theater, he founded the Boca de Cena theatre company in 1983, in which, after devoting 10 years to classical ballet with the Bolshoi, under the guidance of dancer and choreographer Zélia Olguin, he deepened his studies of drama, music and science. With Boca de Cena he produced multimedia pieces, acting as an actor, director, author, costume designer and set designer in more than 30 plays. He's been a professor of architecture and engineering at the Centro Universitário do Leste de Minas since 2000. In 2007 he obtained his master's degree in engineering from UFMG.
