Skald has been a healer his whole life. But his healing abilities are suddenly stripped from him, leaving him in doubt over his role in the Ardent. When he unexpectedly finds himself thrust back into his past, he must confront the truths about who he is and what he has done-as a husband, as a friend, and as a member of the Ardent.

Tritiana is dead. As a wraith, that is a cold fact she came to terms with long ago. But when her very purpose for still existing is questioned, she is thrown into conflict and doubt. As a series of events place Tritiana in a ghastly land that is both familiar and unknown, she must navigate newfound terrors, as well as the fears within her own mind.
