Author Biography
Geraldine Ryan-Lush holds a B.A (ED) from Memorial University of NL, and has been a classroom teacher and print columnist for The Evening Telegram and Newfoundland Herald. She is the award-winning, prolific author of numerous books and stories for children, young adults and adults, as well as a collection of poetry. Her Awards/Honours include the American Bookseller's Pick of the Lists, Merit Magazine Studio Award, Alcuin Society Design Award, Readers' Favourite (a review source honored by the American Library Association) 5-Star Twice, Atlantic Books Today Editors' Pick, among others. Her books have been reviewed in School Library Journal, Canadian Children's Literature, Canadian Book Review Annual, Quill & Quire, Copley News Services, Washington, London Free Press, Winnipeg Free Press, among a plethora of other literary and popular review sources. She is also author of many scholarly articles on the children's literature field appearing in exclusive kid lit sources as Books In Canada and CCL. She has been a frequent guest on CBC Radio, and Cable T.V. discussing her work. Born and raised in St. Joseph's, S.M.B., NL, Canada, she has resided in Mount Pearl where she raised her two sons, Shannon and Barrie. She presently lives and writes in 500-year-old, historic St. John's, NL, the oldest city in North America.
