Author Biography
Karan Chand (aka Chines/ Ghasi) grew up in Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast, Guyana. By vocation, he has been an educator all of his adult life. Between 1980 and 1989 he taught at Abram Zuil Secondary School, Alleyne High School, Anna Regina Community High School and Anna Regina Multilateral School. He has also taught in Belize (formerly British Honduras) in Central America at various secondary and tertiary level educational institutions including the Belize Teachers' Training College and the University of Belize, culminating his career there as a principal at St. Michael's College. In between, he taught in the Turks and Caicos and in the USA. By avocation, he is a writer and poet and has also written a book of 13 short stories titled "JIM JONES' JUSTICE and other short stories" and poems in a book: " I HAD A DREAM an anthology of poems". In 2009 Chand migrated to Canada where he has been teaching adult students from all over the world at the Adult Education Centers of the Peel and York District School Boards, Ontario.
