Author Biography
Luiz Walter Coelho Filho was born in Salvador, Bahia, in 1961. He is a lawyer and a senior partner at Menezes, Magalhães, Coelho & Zarif Associates. Coelho Filho has published other books in his areas of expertise, such as "Jurisprudência Fiscal" (1995) and "A Capitania de São Jorge e a Década do Açúcar" (2000). In 2012, he received the Thomé de Souza Medal from the City Council of the City of Salvador in recognition of his excellent research work in "A Fortaleza do Salvador na Bahia de Todos os Santos", which "The Fortress of Salvador in Colonial Brazil" now makes available in translation for an international audience.
