Author Biography
Richard Hall Thayer, PhD, CSDP, has managed, lectured, researched, and taught software engineering for many years. He was a frequent traveler and provided software engineering seminars on five of the world continents. Dr. Thayer received a BSEE degree and an MS degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a PhD from the University of California at Santa Barbara in Electrical Engineering. He is an Emeritus Professor of Software Engineering at Sacramento State University and was a senior officer in the U.S. Air Force. He spent four years directing the U.S. Air Force R&D program in computer science. Dr. Thayer is a Fellow of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Computer Society Golden Core, a Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), and a member of the IEEE Software Engineering Standards Committee. He has authored or coauthored 20 technical books on software engineering.
