Author Biography
Plato was the most influential philosopher in the Western world. His early Socratic dialogues demonstrate the dialectical method of his mentor, the infamous Socrates, while his later works advanced startling theories about justice, metaphysics, and the nature of knowledge itself. He also founded the first institution of higher learning, the Academy, where he taught the equally impressive intellectual Aristotle.
