Author Biography
Edie Landau was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She received her B.A. in Education from Wilkes University. Some thirty years later, she enrolled at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, where she secured a Juris Doctorate Degree. She is currently a member of the State Bar of California. Landau's background is extremely varied. Together with her producer husband, the late Ely Landau, she was involved in the production of many celebrated motion pictures, including LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT (Academy Award Nomination, Best Actress-- Katharine Hepburn), THE PAWNBROKER (Academy Award Nomination, Best Actor -- Rod Steiger), KING...A FILMED RECORD...MONTGOMERY TO MEMPHIS (Academy Award Nomination, Best Documentary), and THE MAN IN THE GLASS BOOTH (Academy Award Nomination, Best Actor -- Maximillian Schell). She also served as Producer of HOPSCOTCH (Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson), BEATLEMANIA, and Chaim Potok's THE CHOSEN, as well as a number of award-winning productions for HBO, including THE DEADLY GAME (George Segal and Robert Morley), SEPARATE TABLES (Alan Bates and Julie Christie), MR. HALPERN AND MR. JOHNSON (Laurence Olivier and Jackie Gleason) and THE CHRISTMAS WIFE (Jason Robards and Julie Harris). For the past twenty years, Landau has been operating one of Southern California's most respected nanny placement services, Nannies Unlimited Agency. Her clientele includes many noted executives and celebrities of the entertainment world. In addition to the two young sons her husband brought to the marriage, the Landaus had three children together...Jon Landau (Producer - "Titanic" and "Avatar"), Tina Landau (Award Winning Theatre Director) and Kathy Landau (Executive Director - National Dance Institute). There are now seven grandchildren to whom Landau imparts her Grandmother's wisdom.
