In a culture which seems increasingly polarized, shouldn't the church look different? A conservative evangelical movement is possible! But it will only happen if the church unifies on the fundamentals of the faith while allowing freedom of conscience on non-fundamental issues. Conservative evangelical churches grounded in the gospel of grace ought to form a unified front against her enemy forces instead of quarreling with each other over reasonable assessments about the ordinances of the church.

Nick S. Smartt holds an MDiv from Knox Theological Seminary and is working on his PhD from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a campus minister with DiscipleMakers and a research assistant at the Center for New Testament Textual Studies.
