Author Biography

Mary Kuykendall is the author of "River Roots" which won the 2008 George Garrett Prize and was published by Texas Review Press and Sam Houston University. Mary was born on a farm along the South Branch of the Potomac River in West Virginia. She joined GE after graduating from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and history. Her communication experience at GE includes five years at headquarters. Mary also hold a master's degree from the State University of New York in Albany. She has authored over l30 short stories, many of which have been published in magazines and small press anthologies.
