by Cathalene Rene Montoure (Editor), Cal Smith (Author)
Cal Smith has been a news reporter, newspaper and magazine columnist, and publisher for more than fifty years. Basically a story teller, his unique rhyming style makes his poems easy to read and impossible to keep to yourself, which is why we titled the book 'Poetry that's fun to read out loud' and why we guarantee that you will indeed, find it fun to read.
Author Biography
Cal Smith has been an adventurer most of his adult life. He started diving in the early 1950s shortly after Jacques Cousteau invented the air regulator and introduced SCUBA diving to the world. He couldn't keep his excitement to himself and began writing a weekly diving column for the Victoria Colonist newspaper in Victoria, Canada. He was in the Canadian air force at the time, and his columns led to an appointment as News and Features writer for the service. Later, he began promoting body building and organized the Mr North America contest with Arnold Schwarzenegger as guest poser and published a new bodybuiding magazine called 'Looking Good'. In the seventies he established Diversea Products harvesting abalone and sea urchins underwater along the north coast of British Columbia.
