History of the Swedish Family of Crafoord, descendants of the Fedderate cadet of Crawfords in Scotland. The author wrote about their ancestry from 1610 when Jacob Crafoord left Scotland to join the Swedish Army. It continues to follow his descendants until about 1850.
Author Biography
Col. Crafoord is a retired military officer from the Swedish Army. He comes from a long line of soldiers who originally came to Sweden from Scotland to fight in the European wars of the 17th and 18th centuries. They stayed on and became Swedish citizens, marrying into military families and adopting the Swedish rendition Crafoord of the Crawford surname. Biography: Born 1924. Father: C-G Crafoord, Colonel. Entered military profession 1942; Infantry Mix of conscript training work and Military schools to 1953. Graduated as lieutenant from General staff College 1955. Mix of General Staff positions and Conscript training. Different jobs in teaching in the GS College from major to full colonel Defense attaché in Helsinki 1975-1979 Retired 1983. Resident Governor of Gripsholm (Historic) Royal Castle 1983-1991. Married Karin 1951. She died in 2004. Children: a daughter Christina, a son Göran, and a foster daughter Susanne. Lots of nice grand and great grandchildren. Interests: Paints in water color. Reading, History and Humor.
