ZitkAla-SA (1876-1938) (Lakota: pronounced zitk la-sa, which translates to "Red Bird"), also known by the missionary-given name Gertrude Simmons Bonnin, was a Sioux (Yankton Dakota) writer, editor, musician, teacher and political activist.
