by M. R. Oringderff (Author)
Nine Lives but Who's Counting? He is. This book is a mostly humorous, sometime sad, true story of the life of Mike Oringderff, a military man with an unbelievable past history of almost "biting the bullet." Whether it was having been shot at over 20 times, stabbed twice, beaten in bar fights, flying off mountains at 80 miles per hour or any of the other near death experiences, he has gone on to a very successful career in the military. Having a reputation of being a black sheep for most of his life, he looks back over his past with humor and wit that will keep you laughing out loud and then suddenly you may turn to tears. He's had a beer with Willie and been undercover with two of the most incompetent police officers in history. His wife wants you to know this book was not written posthumously, but she doesn't know why
Author Biography
Mike Oringderff was raised as a military brat claiming many US cities home until settling in on San Antonio Texas. His long military career began after many turns and twists of fate and the ultimate classification as the "black sheep" of his family. While starting out as just a kid either spending time in the Bexar County Jail in Texas, with killers and armed robbers or just spending time dodging bullets and knives or flying off mountains in Texas, he went on to a very successful, over forty year career, serving the military and the United States Government. He received an in-the-field promotion for an act of bravery and went on to become the top enlisted person in his chosen career field assigned to the Pentagon. His background was his backbone to success. As a former night club owner, entertainer, or working undercover for the police, he's mingled with some of the top entertainers in the world and has been a top Texas Disc Jockey before and after he was selected for the military draft during the Vietnam War. He's performed on stage for thousands of music lovers and dodged bullets from thousands of rioters, but in the end, he's still asking - I've had "Nine Lives, But Who's Counting?"
