Author Biography
For Sherry Saarinen, storytelling and humor were a big part of growing up on the farm with eight brothers and sisters. She was born and raised in a Finnish-speaking family in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Sherry has worked in higher education throughout her life, as a switchboard operator, admissions coordinator and secretary. She is also sought-after folk artist who enjoys creating whimsical art from nature. For the past five years, Sherry and her two siblings, Kris and Linda, have performed Finnish comedy as the Suomalainen Sisters. The trio has performed Nyt Naura...Now Laugh at more than 150 venues around the country. A mother and grandmother, Sherry lives in Hancock, Michigan with her husband, Bob, and their feline friend, Kit-Kat. Her motto: "Always remember to Nubba-Naura (belly-laugh) at every given opportunity!"
