Author Biography

Khalid Bey is a lifetime resident of the City of Syracuse. He is a graduate of the public school system; and currently he is the proud representative of the People of the 4th Council District in Syracuse, New York. As an active community member for over 17 years and an employee within government for several years now, Khalid is well aware of what is required for effective governing. In year one of his first term and as the Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, Downtown & Metropolitan Planning, Khalid has been at the forefront of the fight for job opportunities for city residents. With an educational background in the Social Sciences, Khalid continues to use his talents an author and a public speaker. He has lectured at a number of colleges and universities, as well as at a number of community events along the East coast and in the Midwest, speaking particularly about man's personal identity, human behavior and human relationships. He now adds the subject of good governing to his resume. An author of five published books, with a sixth underway, Khalid Bey clearly has a lot to offer. Stating his recent realization of his passion for empowering others, Khalid Bey says "who would imagine that empowering others and seeing others do well could be so satisfying." As a City Councilor, Khalid Bey takes advantage of the opportunity to fulfill his passion to make the lives of others better. His works continues to win favor with readers. Khalid is a proud Democrat, having been involved with the Onondaga County (New York) Democratic Party for several years now. Currently, he is the Chairman of his City's 18th Ward Committee.
