by Leslie S. Talley (Author)
Make Old Bones Fifteen-year-old Connie Kittredge, a sneaky child who collects secrets, disappears in 1953, presumed drowned. Almost forty years later her skeleton is discovered in the disused dumbwaiter in historic Belgrath House, Daytona Beach, Florida. The discovery coincides with the thirty-fifth reunion of Connie's Class of '57. Clarice and Otis Campion function as caretakers of Belgrath, now restored and opened as a B & B. Clarice, along with permanent guest Miss Letty, third owner of the house and former silent screen star, seeks answers to the mystery. Could the murderer be one of Connie's classmates, now respectable citizens? Did one of Connie's secrets prove deadly? A second murder at Belgrath from cherry laurel-laced iced tea shows the murderer is still around...and worried. Clarice's discovery of a certain diary solves the mystery almost too late. Inadvertently left behind during a forced evacuation of Belgrath due to Category Four Hurricane Aphrodite, Clarice confronts a killer...and a rapidly rising tidal surge.
