The United States of America was founded on the principles of freedom of religion. I was brought up to believe I had a choice, to believe whatever I wanted to believe, but I was influenced by my atheist parents. They always made fun of religion and people who believed. The system created for the United States of America has lasted over two-hundred years. No other system in the world can compare to the freedom we have. Ed, you opened my eyes to God and I thank you for doing that. I look at God and country in a completely different light now. My eyes are open to the importance of what America was founded on because now I know God, the Bible opened my heart. 'In God we trust' is printed on our paper money. I have a new appreciation for those words, spoken and printed by our forefathers. The song, 'God Bless America' is in my heart, sometimes when I hear it sung the feeling is so strong I well-up with tears. I do not blame my parents for influencing me. My grandparents were also atheist and taught my parents their beliefs; I plan to break the generational curse and raise my children in the church.
