Author Biography
DarLisa Meaders is a Chicago native who considers herself a Destined Determined Dreamer. Her gift of public speaking was noticed early on in grammar school at Harold Washington Elementary School. She recited the poem "I'm Determined To Be Somebody Someday" at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast. She graduated from Morgan Park Academic Center & High School, recieved a Bachelors Degree from Grand Valley State University and a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Over the years she has enhanced her public speaking skills by joining Toastmasters International. She received the Competent Communicator Award within a year and was elected as the Vice President of Education of the New Faith International Toastmasters Club in 2017. DarLisa is a published author, education professional, and an aspiring entrepreneur. She is passionate about inspiring others through public speaking, inspirational clothing, and publishing books. Her favorite quote is "In spite of the things that stand in my way, I'm Determined To Be Somebody Someday."
