We are complicated creatures with an unknown but finite number of days to live in this world. We enter it naked, unknowing, and unable to walk or speak. In the span of God's blink, we will leave it and move on. Some naked and broken; others unable to move or speak. And in that blink of time, we will have done some things-good and bad-and wish we had done others. We will have built our character, the starting point for our entry into Heaven, where life is truly an eternity. In Loving Colour explores the different aspects of life using the unique colours of a crayon box as a reference. The book is written from a father's perspective, providing straight-forward common sense wisdom he would want to pass on to his children to better equip them for adulthood.

Author Biography

Timothy Ray Phillips grew up in the Amish country of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Here he found his poetic heart and began writing poetry at the age of thirteen. The small Moravian town of Lititz was a perfect backdrop for Timothy's earliest poems. Much of his work reflects his experience and affinity for small town America. At seventeen Timothy moved south to attend college at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University in California. He is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Currently, he is the Chief Financial Officer for a privately-held company in Blacksburg. He jokes that he balances numbers by day and words by night. Timothy is an admitted night owl and it is in the small hours that his most creative work surfaces. In Loving Colour is Timothy's first published book of prose. He is currently finishing his second book of fiction, which he hopes to publish later this year. Timothy, his wife Debbie, and their three children (the impetus and inspiration for this book) live in beautiful Ellett Valley just east of Blacksburg. Their beached ark includes two lemon-white beagles, a Maltese, two parakeets and, at last count, twenty-three wild deer. Not to mention a treasure trove of musically-inclined birds.
