Words: those mysterious combinations of sounds or scribblings we humans have evolved to communicate. And unlike the barks and cackles of the animals, words are not limited to the immediate time or place. They bring together writer and reader, separated by centuries or continents. Not only do they tell you about the three-dimensional world, they also transport you to worlds intangible, but no less real. Author Biography
I consider myself a poet under construction. A retired teacher, with a Doctorate in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, NY, I lead a writers group in Riverhead, NY. My poetry has been published in magazines, anthologies and online collections, and has won several awards. Footsteps to the Resurrection (a book of Easter poems), was published in 2005 and Celebrations in 2014. bbatcher@optonline.net
