What is "identity?" Is it simply a number on a social security card? Is it the influences in our immediate lives who have made us who we are? Or, rather, is "identity" a creation of the mind made through a combination of experiences--who we are as people, what we have done, what we have been through. Perhaps it is no more than our DNA--the molecules that comprise the fabric of our being. Each poem is a moment, each verse a memory; each line--a construction of a vibration that we can feel stirring in our bones. In the marrow of who I am, this is my "identity."
