Author Biography
In this textbook, Lynette (Lyn) Clarke shares insights that have been acquired from more than 30 years of writing for a living. Since the 1980s Lyn Clarke has worked as a writer on ad campaigns. She has honed her skills, writing for all sectors across many formats. What is more, she has learned from decades of practice what works and what doesn't. Throughout her career, much of Lyn's work has been measured. Either through increased market share, or by the number of people who return a coupon, call or visit a web site. Her words have helped to sell billions of dollars in products, while raising many millions for Not For Profits. People read what she writes and they act upon it. In fact, she is proud to say that her campaigns not only meet but often exceed the sales' targets and response rates. She first thought about writing this guide after working with her uni students. When she shared her insights, she noticed each student's writing improved. But why stop there? In recent times she has also been employed by firms to help their staff to write simply and clearly. As most people soon find out - an easy read is one of the hardest things you can write. It takes real effort to present your thoughts in a reader-friendly way. So to help you, she has now compiled all these writing tips along with set tasks. They're here, in this one, step-by-step guide for you to work through.
