This quick resource equips parents with the information and skills they need to deal adaptively with the countless issues associated with raising children. Rather than bogging down readers with technical language and detailed explanations, Don Fontenelle, a child psychologist, offers simple solutions. Basic, modifiable techniques are introduced alongside a number of examples that illustrate how parents can put these methods to use. Whether combating aggressiveness or hyperactivity, lying or thumb sucking, this reference provides strategies for addressing general concerns as well as specific problems. Living with children may be a challenge, but it can also be a rewarding experience when families are able to overcome the growing pains together.
Don Fontenelle received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Oklahoma State University and has practiced in the profession since the early 1970s.
