The turmoil of the times which included race rioting, addiction, and verbal abuse leads to fear, anxiety, and illness. The hippy movement, women's lib, free sex, and free drugs leads to an era of confusion. Peggy's saving grace is her mother who leads her to God's redeeming love. She takes her faithfully every summer to Bible school at a little Mennonite Church. She prays every night with Peggy in her nightly ritual of tucking her into bed. Peggy accepts Jesus as her Savior. He reveals Himself to her through scripture and becomes her Father and Friend. Peggy prays intently for her family for years. They finally return to the country in the hills of Dover, Pennsylvania. Her father comes to Christ in a very profound way when Peggy is a young teenager. Even though her Dad is different, she is still filled with pain. She prays for the Lord to use her to help heal other families. God begins to use her to teach Sunday school and Bible school The Lord calls her at age forty to a ministry that takes her back to those same streets of York City that she grew up on to help women and children start over after hardships. Those hardships lead her into the prison, psych wards, and rescue missions as well as the court rooms to plead for the women who want to start over with the help of Jesus Christ. Peggy shares the "dance lessons" that the Lord taught her to reach freedom from her pain. It took a lot of hard work and studying the word of God to reach this point. She wants you to experience the same freedom that she has. If you are willing to reach out and do the work it takes, you can learn to dance through life's hardships. The Lord states in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."
Author Biography
I am a country girl at heart, even though I moved away from a farm many years ago. My husband and I share a cape cod in rural Pennsylvania. We live across from open farm land that is absolutely beautiful. My greatest joy is my family. We have two wonderful children who are happily married. They gave us three beautiful grandchildren. My husband and I have been married for thirty-five years. We are enjoying our quiet time together. I enjoy having time to do my hobbies which include quilting and gardening. I feel closest to God when I see the flowers go into full bloom. It amazes me that He created such beauty. I enjoy helping wherever God leads me. My husband and I recently retired from helping women and children starting over after a hardship. I hear almost daily from the women we helped. It is amazing to see the difference that has taken place in their lives. They became our second family. My career is something I also enjoy. I am a customer care manager for Smith Village Home Furnishing in Jacobus, Pennsylvania. The people I work with are very kind and have wonderful personalities. The company I work for has tremendous integrity and Christian values which is very important to me. I always enjoyed business, people and decorating. This is a good fit for me. I redecorated our home like a bed and breakfast. It reminds me of my grandparents and the love that filled their home. It also reminds me of the mini vacations in Lancaster, Pennsylvania that my husband and I went on when our ministry was in operation. I know our grandchildren fill that same love when they visit. I am very thankful for the love and peace I feel in our home. I am very grateful for everything God has done for me.
