He investigated the causes and interrelations between the disease and his life. Which way he went and how he went it, he does not describe drily, scientifically and matter-of-factly, but in a lively, humorous, exciting and thrilling way as in a novel, so that everyone can understand what it means to work yourself out of the deepest crisis of your life, that it is worthwhile to fight, that you can change habits, that you can change your life and how important it is to have the right woman by your side. Incidentally the reader does not only learn basic knowledge about kidneys and nutrition, but also a unique view on life itself.

Author Biography

Beate Reinecker wurde 1959 in Essen-Werden geboren. Nach dem Umzug ins Münsterland absolvierte sie das Abitur am Aufbaugymnasium in Warendorf. In Münster studierte sie Philosophie und Germanistik und schloss das Studium mit dem Staatsexamen ab. Ein zentrales Thema der vielseitigen Studien war die Selbstbestimmung des Menschen und die Persönlichkeitsentfaltung. Zahlreiche Pädagogen und Philosophen gaben Anstöße zur Reflexion über die Entwicklung des Ichs im Kontext der Gesellschaft. Als Mutter ließ sie ihre Erkenntnisse in die Erziehung einfließen. Sie wollte zu mehr Freiheit und Selbstverantwortung im Denken und Handeln aufrufen. Ihr erstes von sieben Büchern: "Lass dich nicht verbiegen! Lass dich nicht brechen!" erschien 2014 und wurde auf der Frankfurter Buchmesse vorgestellt. 2019 erschien eine Neuauflage dieses Werkes.
