by Katy Leigh Foster (Author)
Christian teenage boys need to deeply understand and know whom they call Savior and Lord. A Boy's Bible Study of Jesus replaces complacency in a teenage boy's Christian life with a hunger to read the Bible, a passion to know Jesus more, and a grateful commitment to follow Him. This study concentrates on the Book of Matthew as a pivot point to teach the life of Jesus, the teachings of Jesus, and the Godly character of Jesus. By the end of the study, the entire Book of Matthew is read, along with several cross-references.
Cross-referencing is heavily encouraged to help understand much of Jesus' teachings, and to see how the Bible connects together, securing a significantly deeper knowledge of the whole Bible. The cross-referencing sections also generate an essential understanding of how vital Bible-reading is for daily life. This study is a reader and a life-application workbook. Ideal ages are between 13 and 18 years. Suitable for personal, group, and family devotion, for a Bible study, and is also used as homeschool curriculum. Katy Leigh Foster guides with the love of a mother, depicting her interest in Biblical history and a passion to dig deeper into the Bible. Chris Foster adds God-given wisdom and practicality, and personal testimonies with a fatherly love.
Author Biography
Katy Leigh Foster has been writing much of her three children's homeschool curriculum since she first began homeschooling over 10 years ago. The first volume of the "From a Boy to a Godly Man" series, subtitled "A Boy's Bible Study of David," was originally written solely for her son when he was 11 years old. Encouragement by friends and other writers helped to make the first boy's Bible study published practically throughout the world. Her second boy's study, subtitled "A Boy's Bible Study of Joseph" was published two years later. She describes this study as "the one that broke me into wholeness." The Fosters' love for their son Alex, almost 15 at the time of this most recent study of Jesus, gave the parents a revived awareness that their son's daily walk needs to firmly grip the hand of Jesus. Consequently, Chris and Katy jointly committed to fervent prayers together, sacrificing, and intense Bible studies as they worked diligently through writing "A Boy's Bible Study of Jesus." Katy is a member of Faithwriters, writing short stories and devotions for worldwide publishing, and continues to homeschool her three children. Chris is currently a middle school administrator, and continues his admiration for history and its Biblical applications. The family resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia; and are humbly compelled Christians, hungry to live out the Great Commission.
