Author Biography
Holly Bridges is a patient, author, journalist and advocate for minimally invasive gynecology and informed choice. She has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. She spent 15 years as a CBC Radio and Television journalist and talk show personality across Canada and is an accredited public relations practitioner with 30 years' experience in the field of journalism and communications. She has won five awards for her writing. She is the President and Founder of HMB FemCare, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women through specialty feminine hygiene products for menstrual disorders such as fibroids and heavy menstrual bleeding. About Dr. Sony Singh, MD, ObGyn, Medical Editor of Flow Fighter Dr. Sukhbir (Sony) Singh is an Associate Professor within the Department of ObGyn at The Ottawa Hospital & University of Ottawa. He has a clinical practice with a sub-specialty focus on Complex Gynecologic Disorders requiring surgical intervention or advanced medical therapies. Currently he is the Vice-Chair of Gynecology at The Ottawa Hospital and is also the Lead for MIS Gynecology Research at The Shirley E. Greenberg Women's Health Centre. Recently, he was awarded the Dr Elaine Jolly Research Chair in Gynecologic Surgery (2016-2021). Dr. Singh has also helped develop a new index known as technicity to measure the appropriateness of hysterectomies being performed in Canadian hospitals and to encourage gynecologists to perform the procedure less invasively, either vaginally or laparoscopically. Dr. Singh has achieved one of the highest technicity rates in the world.
