Stephen Simpkins joins contemporary colleagues such as, H.D. (Hilda Doolittle), Ezra Pound, F.S. Flint, Richard Aldington, Amy Lowell, Skipwith Cannell and James Joyce with his avant-garde, Imagist poetry. In the March 1913 issue of Poetry that contained, "A Few Don'ts by an Imagiste" Ezra Pound opened with an introductory note defining Des Imagistes or, Imagist poetry by declaring, "That which presents an intellectual and emotional complex in an instant of time."
