Family and friends, and in one instance, the encouragement of the most famous athlete of the 20th century, propel them to pursue a college degree and the brighter future it promises.Harley, who lives on a farm, and Mable, who lives in town, must prevail through personal and family tragedies. Adversity truly builds strength and determination. They hope for something better and are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. This compelling and inspirational book is a testament to the determination and ingenuity of two members of what is now known as "The Greatest Generation."
