Author Biography
SaFiya D. Hoskins, Ph.D. (Dr. Sa) earned a doctorate in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University; and, from Howard University she earned an MA in Communication and Culture and a BA in Journalism. Dr. Sa's first children's book (co-written with Durelle Williams), The Adventures of Bouki and Rabby: Cottage in the Clouds, is a contemporary adaptation of a time-honored Bahamian folktale. She has written over 70 articles for the African American National Biography, a Harvard University project; and, contributed to over 20 independent projects including an anthology of poetry. Dr. Sa has written and edited volumes of scholarly research including her examination of faculty perceptions at HBCUs; composed a novel and co-written an autobiography. Dr. Sa is the founder of Ubiquitous Press- publisher for voices from across the African Diaspora, an educator, talk radio host and public speaker. Dr. Hoskins is a native Chicagoan and resides in Washington, DC.
