by Nancy Morrison (Author), Stevie Cameron (Foreword by)
Fifty years in a law profession she loves, twenty-four of which were spent as judge, Nancy Morrison has stories to tell. It is very much a political book, focusing on the need for law reform. Entertaining, at times warm and witty, it is also a memoir that reminds us of dark days. Nancy Morrison's career spanned three provinces and two territories, as a lawyer, arbitrator and judge.
Author Biography
I wrote a book that as a sitting judged I could not have written. I had to wait until I retired. Nancy Morrison. A lawyer, arbitrator and judge, as well as a political activist and feminist, Nancy Morrison practiced law and adjudicated in Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. For more than fifty years, she has been a public speaker on social and political issues. As a judge, she served for nine years on the British Columbia Provincial court, 1972 - 1981, including three years as a vice-chair of the BC Labour relations board; and fifteen years on the Supreme Court of British Columbia, 1996 - 2011. Raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, she now lives in Vancouver.
