The story revolves around the Walpajirri Bilby tribe in the Australian outback. Human activity is gradually encroaching on the Aranjirra territory causing a struggle for survival between the different animal groups. The groups including the Bilby, Kangaroo and Dingo have to compete for land to ensure adequate food supplies for their members. The wily dingo leader Don, devises a plan to oust the Walpajirri from their tunnel homes with the aid of a very clever but untrustworthy snake. Beebil and his friends must help the tribe save their homes.
