Author Biography
Lyev Polugayevsky, before his untimely death in 1995, had been one of the world's leading grandmasters for more than thirty years and was a candidate for the world championship on several occasions. His books Grandmaster Achievement and Grandmaster Performance are widely regarded as modern classics. Lakov Damsky is an experienced radio and TV commentator and author of several books for Everyman - The Art of Defence in Chess (with Lev Polugayevsky 1996), Attack with Mikhail Tal (with Mikhail Tal 1994), The Heavy Pieces in Action (1997)
