Author Biography
The author of An Open Book on Hidden Mysteries, Rev. S.C. Blackledge (1882-1954), was a minister of the Mother African Union Methodist Protestant Church headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. This body started as the Union Church of Africans in Wilmington, Delaware in 1813. In 1850 it split into two denominations; the Union American Methodist Episcopal Church and the African Union First Colored Methodist Protestant Church of America and Elsewhere (or the African Union Methodist Protestant Church). Rev. Blackledge's only other work listed in World Cat. is a hymnal which is reprinted as part of An Open Book on Hidden Mysteries. He is buried at Mount Olive Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware.
