AMONG WOMEN-What was passed down from mother to daughter among five generations of one Ukrainian-Canadian-American family, my own. In 1892 the first wave of Ukrainians emigrated from their home villages to settle the Northwest Territories in Canada. Their new lives as pioneers on quarter sections of virgin prairie were punishing, especially among the women. This book is a chronicle of the women in one specific family based on oral histories and personal remembrance, my family.
