The chapters tell the story of teaching and learning in the disciplines. Praise for Content Matters
"Content Matters bridges the gap between idealized plans and practical actions for improving adolescent literacy. It is an excellent resource for growing teacher practice and improving teacher effectiveness." --JERRI LIPPERT, chief academic officer, Pittsburgh Public Schools
"Finally, a book that draws on school-based experiences backed up by emerging research findings. If you believe that all students in your school district can develop the rigorous academic content required for college success, then reading this practical book provides a road map for actualizing that belief." --PAT FORGIONE, former superintendent, Austin Independent School District
