by Colleen Inman (Author)
A compilation of commonalities in Taoist, Hatha and Vedic Yoga for those on the yogic journey to self-realization and zen. These ancient teachings have been passed down through generations of seekers to create masters of the subject and self. Zen Yoga: Theory, Postures & Remedies offers initiation to the subject as well as content for the advancing practitioner. In understanding the teachings, one is aided in dissolving the perceived and real discomforts of modern life, while supporting the individual's responsibility to remain healthy in mind, body, and spirit. Throughout time, teachers have come forward and lived as examples that have the power to change humanity for the better."Be the change you wish to see in the world."-GandhiWhen one follows the illumined footsteps of those who have walked the path to enlightenment, they too may find release from life's struggles. The expression of this freedom shows up in ten thousand ways. Each person's life path and expression is unique even though the roots are the same.Zen Yoga: Theory, Postures & Remedies offers the concepts in numerical order with multi-culture connections in hopes that one may see that we all speak of the same ideals, simply using different words for explanation. There is no need to disagree over the difference in wording, when the numbers show the commonalties in all things. The ultimate goal of Zen Yoga: Theory, Postures & Remedies is to not only offer individuals a handbook to use along the way, but also a reminder of humanity's goal to co-exist with each other's language by seeing we all come from the same roots. By going through the process to yoga, one obtains a clear mind, healthy body, and harmonized emotional state free of hate. It is too full of love and light for that kind of negativity to penetrate. To know yourself is to manage your own karma and be mindful of the impact of your actions on others. To see the ways of heaven and its karma, one may flow with the tide of life.
