Author Biography
Shirley Durgin Nelson was born, and raised for 12 years, across the road from the site of Lycia's cabin in So. Limington, Maine. Henry, lydia's husband was a favorite topic of family stories, but Lydia was mentioned very little. It is known that Lydia bore 6 of Henry's children--the last on her 50th birthday--and raised those children alone. What happened to the sixth child? This story tells us.
